How to tell it's ripe

How to cut and eat it

1. Place the pomegranate on a cutting board and cut off the crown (top stem end).
2. Score the skin vertically around the fruit, dividing it into sections (like an orange) but without cutting too deep into the arils.
3. Gently pull the sections apart. You can also place the fruit in a bowl of water and separate the arils under water to minimize splatter.
4. Carefully remove the arils from the white pith (which is bitter). The arils will sink in water, while the pith floats.
5. Drain the water and enjoy your fresh arils!

Storage instructions
